After a long day of exploring and walking craters, the Mývatn Nature Baths were the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind. Located in the northern part of Iceland, these baths offer a similar experience to the famous Blue Lagoon, but with a unique charm of their own.

While the Mývatn Nature Baths may be smaller and less well-known, they offer a more intimate and tranquil atmosphere. The water, although similar to a regular hot spring, has its own distinct qualities. Although it didn’t leave my skin as soft as the water at the Blue Lagoon, I still found it incredibly soothing. Should not that I did not remove my silver jewelry and it was BLACK so heed the warning here, and remove your jewelry.
One thing I should have taken note of was the warning about removing jewelry before entering the baths. Unfortunately, I left mine on and it turned black. So, make sure to heed this advice to avoid any mishaps.
Overall, my experience at the Mývatn Nature Baths was great. While it shares some similarities with the Blue Lagoon, it has its own unique character. The surrounding area and vibe of the baths are very different, offering a refreshing change of scenery.
If you’re looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience in Iceland, I highly recommend visiting the Mývatn Nature Baths. Whether you’ve already been to the Blue Lagoon or not, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit. Soak in the warm waters, take in the stunning views, and let all your worries melt away.
